Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by an Explore Africa Adventures safari guide who will brief you about your upcoming journey through Uganda's most remarkable destinations. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy the refreshing atmosphere of Entebbe before transferring to your hotel for relaxation.

Settle in, unwind, and prepare for an exciting adventure that awaits across Uganda's diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife, and vibrant cultures.

After breakfast, begin your safari with a scenic drive northwards to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be encountered on foot. Accompanied by experienced rangers, enjoy a memorable rhino tracking experience while learning about the successful conservation efforts that have helped restore Uganda's rhino population.

Following lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest and oldest conservation area. Before heading to your lodge, visit the Top of Murchison Falls where the mighty River Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge before plunging dramatically below. The views, thunderous roar, and misty surroundings create one of Africa's most spectacular natural wonders.

Wake up early for an exciting game drive across the vast savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park. As the sun rises over the landscape, search for some of Africa's iconic wildlife including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, and numerous bird species.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and leisure before embarking on an afternoon boat safari along the Victoria Nile. This rewarding cruise takes you towards the base of Murchison Falls while offering exceptional opportunities to observe hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a rich variety of birdlife along the riverbanks.

As the Nile approaches the falls, witness the incredible force of water that has shaped one of Uganda's most famous landmarks.

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and journey towards the lush rainforests of Kibale National Park in western Uganda. Along the way, enjoy changing landscapes characterized by rolling hills, tea plantations, traditional villages, and scenic countryside views.

Known as the Primate Capital of Africa, Kibale National Park is home to the highest concentration of primates on the continent, including chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and many other species.

Arrive in the afternoon and relax amidst the tranquil rainforest surroundings.

Today offers one of Uganda's most exciting primate encounters. Following breakfast, proceed to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing before entering Kibale Forest in search of habituated chimpanzee communities.

Led by experienced guides, trek through the rainforest while listening to the calls echoing through the canopy. Once located, spend time observing these fascinating primates as they feed, socialize, groom, and interact within their natural environment.

After your chimpanzee experience, continue south towards the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi, often referred to as one of Africa's most beautiful lakes. Upon arrival, enjoy a thrilling ziplining adventure above the lake's calm waters and scenic islands.

After an early breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas.

Following registration and a briefing from park rangers, venture into the dense rainforest in search of your assigned gorilla family. The trek can vary in duration depending on the movement of the gorillas, but every step through this ancient forest builds anticipation for the extraordinary encounter ahead.

Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla family in their natural habitat is an unforgettable wildlife experience. Spend one precious hour observing their behaviour, interactions, and unique personalities before returning from the forest.

After breakfast, depart Lake Bunyonyi and continue to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda's smallest savannah national park yet one of its most scenic wildlife destinations.

Enjoy a game drive through open grasslands and acacia woodlands where zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, buffaloes, topis, and waterbucks are commonly spotted. The park's unique ecosystem provides a refreshing contrast to the forests visited earlier in the safari.

After your wildlife experience, begin the journey back to Entebbe with a stop at the Equator for photography, shopping, and memorable experiences marking your crossing between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
